Caring for the Community
At Molecular, the same core values we apply to our client services are also demonstrated in how we care for the world around us. It is our special tradition to give back to our community, not just financially, but also through the hard work of our employees who volunteer their time.
Caring with Generosity
Our employees generously give their time and talents as volunteers, contributing 1,500+ volunteer hours and more than $131,000 in donations so far this year alone. We have served local and national charitable organizations by donating our time to park beautification efforts, revitalizing youth facilities, serving meals at homeless shelters and soup kitchens, donating clothing, and participating in fundraising athletic events, to name a few.
Our team is proud to have serviced these non-profit organizations: Boston Cares, Boston Private Industry Council, Watertown Boys & Girls Club, BATEC, Salvation Army, Mass Mentoring Partnership, Everybody Wins Metro Boston, The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Lee National Denim Day, 5K Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Event, Children’s Hospital of Boston Miles for Miracles, Watertown Public Schools, The American Red Cross, The Priceless Gown Project, and The Mass AFL-CIO Walk to Cure Cancer.
Caring for the Environment
The people of our community are not the only recipients of Molecular’s contributions, as environmental awareness and protection are also important concerns for our team. Molecular and our parent company, Isobar, are dedicated to increasing eco-friendly practices.
In 2006, Molecular launched our green campaign, “Make a World of Difference,” which is still making a difference today through our “Green Team”. The Green Team is a small group of individuals dedicated to educating our employees on green practices; implementing programs that reduce waste and carbon emissions; and track the progress of our efforts. Since our inaugural year, Molecular has accomplished so much, but there is much more to do!
- Double Sided, Double Savings
We have cut our paper usage in half by changing the default setting on all of our printers to print double- sided.
- Saving Mega Watts
Motion-censored lights have been installed in all conference rooms so that the lights automatically shut off when not in use.
- Changing Water from Blue to Green
Producing the bottles for American consumption requires the equivalent of more than 17 million barrels of oil, not including the energy for transportation. Plus an average of 8 out of 10 water bottles will become landfill waste! Molecular tackled this issue by installing a water filtration system and providing all employees a reusable water bottle. The result: almost 1,500 cases of water bottles are saved each year
- Black and White Is Back
Color ink contains solvents and other chemicals that are harmful to the earth’s fragile ecosystem. When you print, even if one dot on the page is in color, a printer must use all four colors. To combat this, Molecular has set all of our printers to default to black and white.
- Education Is Key
Over the past few years, Molecular has provided special lunch education session for employees to learn how they can contribute to preserving the environment. During this time, we’ve covered issues including home energy savings, alternate transportation, global warming, and organic agriculture.
- Mug Mania Hits Molecular
The fact is that paper cups consume trees, water, and chemicals when manufactured, and most are not recycled. Paper products make up over 40% of this country's municipal solid waste - by far the largest contributor. Molecular cut back dramatically on our paper cup usage by purchasing mugs for all employees. The result: we’ve cut paper cut use in half!
